"Turn Off That Cell Phone You Stupid Ghost Hunter"

    

      I have heard numerous times while on co-sponsored Paranormal Investigations, "Everybody please turn your cell phones off or put them on airplane mode". And every time I hear this, I hate it, but I bite my tongue and do it. 
     The short and sweet of it is, even if you turn off your cell phone, there are constant radio waves always around us. Whether it is from a Wi-Fi router, cellular waves, Bluetooth or just radio signals. The wireless spectrum is around us at all times. Check out this story for a visual example: Here.
    I do respect the argument of why add more direct interference via the cell phone, or wi-fi when there is already so much in the way of radio waves around us naturally. I argue, what is it gonna hurt? It may even help any EVP sessions where a spirit might need just a little more energy to produce some verbage. 
     When researching the effects of wi-fi and cellular within paranormal investigating, I couldn't find much. They say that radio waves, no matter what type can cause headaches, nausea, and muscle aches. I do remember that when under a doctors care for a back injury, I was prescribed ultrasound, a type of radio frequency therapy to relieve my pain, and it helped. So what is it, it's bad for you...it's good for you!...but I digress, In relation to the above statement, the same wi-fi that some "hunters" complain about could just be that little bit of extra EMF that could help produce that class "A" EVP we all are in search of. The radio frequency itself isn't going to make words out of thin air, those Electronic Voice Phenomena are created from the spirit, with the help of the energy they can find in the moment. 
     I mean hell, some paranormal investigators use actual equipment to produce extra energy for the spirits to draw off of...they are called EM Pumps. So what's the difference between that and a mini EM Pump that is your one true link to the world out there.  
     So when you are asked to turn off your cell phone or not use any wireless technology while on an investigation, keep in mind that those people are really over-thinking things or are completely ignorant to what is already all around us. 
     BTW, we use a wireless ir dvr system, and haven't noticed anything irregular or enhanced in any of our findings since switching from the wired system.
